During a career with UNHCR spanning 22 years, I acquired an

outstanding reputation for my ability to support the ICT systems,

networks and applications installed in all of the 180 field offices

across the globe. Although formally retired from UNHCR, I am

very keen to continue working in the ICT field as an independent

consultant, confident in my ability to continue adding value and

contributing to the ongoing development and rollout of mission

critical systems.

Throughout my time with UNHCR, I was involved in the design,

programming, testing and implementation of ICT systems,

providing support and training to end users both remotely from

my base in the Geneva HQ and on-site at the global field offices as

required. I travelled to over 60 countries in this capacity, including

to the liaison office in New York as well as locations in the midst

of conflict situations, such as Baghdad, Kosovo and West Timor.

The nature of my work has required me to engage directly with

UN staff from multiple nationalities, using my excellent

communication skills to provide technical training and support

utilising language that was easy for them to understand, despite

the level of their own technical expertise. One of the most

rewarding aspects of my role was receiving the gratitude of my

colleagues, enabling them to perform their own roles more

effectively and efficiently using the systems that I had helped to

develop and install.

I have enjoyed the brief sabbatical that I have taken since my

retirement but am ready to take on my next challenge and am

confident that I still have a great deal to offer UNHCR and other

international agencies based in Geneva.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at +41 76 420 2547 so we can

arrange an interview to discuss my application in greater depth.
